Dr. Steve Nguyen (pronounced “Win”) was appointed by Governor Perry and Comptroller Combs to serve on the Statewide Health Coordinating Council and the Small Business Advisory Council. Steve is an Optometrist, small business owner, father, husband, and Proud Texan. He and his family are truly living the American Dream. Born in Vietnam, Steve’s grandfather was executed for opposing communism there and his father fought for freedom alongside American troops. After the war, their family fled communism and were welcomed to America. At the age of 16, Steve proudly became a U.S. citizen. As a family man, he and his wife have two wonderful children, Max and Sidney Claire.
